Line Dance on the Bridge 2019

Any Given Sunday….There is something going on around this great nation!

It’s not football season, and this post isn’t going to be about football.  Nor is it about the Oliver Stone Movie that came out a couple decades ago.  Instead, this is about what you can find on any Sunday around our beautiful continent.  We have been lucky enough to travel and explore many beautiful places like National Parks, oceans, rivers, lakes.  But honestly there is so much more.

Most people travel to an area and barely scratch the surface of what a location has to offer.   You have to dig a little bit!  A great way to start is to grab a local newspaper.

If dinosaur publications aren’t your thing, try Google:

Search: “Events Near Me”

This one is great, because it will show you specific events going on, not just the local breweries, places to eat and bowling alleys.

That search this week landed us something interesting:

The 8th Annual Line Dance on the Bridge was happening near us!

We are in Lake Havasu where the actual London Bridge is, and the further we read into it, the more interesting it got.  I wouldn’t necessarily call us fans of line dancing, but we are definitely fans of fun interesting things, and that definitely fits the bill!

There were some red flags though.  The registration was $20!  For a family of 7, it just got real!  We decided to go check it out anyway and we sure are glad we did.

We did not register to dance; instead we only walked up onto the bridge, and watched everyone have a great time!  They had a barrier fence we had to stay behind, but we were able to see just fine from there. Oh and Doug flew his drone and got some video from the air!

They shut down the road at 2:30 and then all the dancers came out onto the bridge and line danced 3 songs.  After they danced on the bridge, they went down below and danced for a couple more hours.  We didn’t go down for that; we went to the playground down the trail from bridge to finish out our afternoon at London Bridge.

The moral of this story is on Any Given Sunday around this great country, there is something interesting to do, even if it’s not Yosemite National Park or the Gulf of Mexico!
