Garmin RV 760LMT RV GPS Review

Nowadays, everyone has a smartphone, which typically has a GPS of some sort.  We are no different.  I also installed a Kenwood 690HD head unit with GPS in it in the Excursion.  But unfortunately, although it works, it’s not completely packed with features.   So after watching a couple of reviews, we decided to go with the Garmin RV 760 LMT GPS.  It appealed to us because it’s packed with features specifically aimed at RV travelers.  This particular unit also came with a wireless backup camera that I plan to mount on the back of the trailer to help back into spots.  I did charge it up, and install the most recent maps/updates but have yet to use it.  We will be reviewing this further once we have some time on the road with practical use.

Here are some of the key features:

· 7″ Display – With a big, 7″ high-resolution touchscreen Display, RV 760LMT is easy-to-see inside vehicles of every size

· Lifetime MAPS – Businesses open and close. New roads are built. Drive knowing your routes reflect the latest map data available from Garmin

· Customized RV Routing – Enter your vehicle’s height, weight, length and width. RV 760LMT will guide you along the most suitable routes for most major roads and highways, avoiding RV-related restrictions, such as low bridges

· Garmin Real Directions – Garmin Real Directions with Garmin Real Voiced guide like a friend, using landmarks, buildings and traffic lights, rather than hard-to-read street names

· BCTM 20 Wireless Backup Camera – Transmits images wirelessly, up to 45 feet, to your RV 760LMT Display, so you can easily spot vehicles, and obstacles (Professional installation recommended. Extension cable may be required for vehicles longer than 45 feet)

It is a little spendy, but I bought it on Prime day from Amazon, it took the sting out of it a little bit!

About Fummins Family

In 2016 a family hit the road with 5 of their children. They were going to travel the country in a Ford Excursion that had a cummins engine. A ford with a cummins, hence the name, Fummins. Ford+Cummins=Fummins. It was going to be a fummins family roadtrip. Within 3 months they decided that the travel trailer they were pulling wasn't working well for their family. They needed more space so they upgraded to a fifth wheel. It's not easy to pull a fifth wheel with an excursion, so they had to bid farewell to the fummins. They talked about changing the name of theirs travels, but decided to hold onto it for a while longer. They already had a website, blog, youtube, instagram and facebook. After 2 more years they decided to make the switch to Roadschool. Here they will share some of the old posts and video. It may be old information, but it's still just as good...at least most of it!
