When we started planning this trip, we decided to bring along our paddle boards. There are 6 of them, and combined, they weigh about 200 lbs. Then you add in 6 paddles, and 6 life jackets, and that is a lot of stuff. We needed a way to carry it all. So I decided to go with Yakima Megawarrior.
I had to fabricate custom mounting pieces to fit with the system already on the roof. I also added 2 22″ extensions to add overall length, and 2 80″ round crossbars to actually put the boards on. Overall the system is working well for us. I added mounts for the paddles down inside the basket. So loaded, the 6 paddles are on the bottom, the life jackets are on top of the paddles, and the boards hold it all down. You can buy it by clicking here.
