Happy Belated Independence Day

While you all were out enjoying the 3 day holiday weekend, we were busy with #thepurge!!  We set up Friday night, and had our sale going basically through Monday afternoon.  It’s a lot of work for sure setting up, and maintaining yard sales.  We did grill out, we did see some fireworks, but probably not on the level that you did.  But we did get a lot of crap sorted and sold.  It was a productive weekend.  The day after Independence Day, we celebrated another year for Anthony.  He is 10 now, where do the years go?  They had family dinner at the daycare, so Harmony made a wonderful Oreo Cake, and we did presents.  Nothing too fancy.

I have several projects going on the travel trailer, got one finished.  I added a Better Built tongue tool box between the propane tanks and the trailer cabin.  We are extremely pressed for storage, so I added this to accommodate the trailer leveling and jacking items.  It’s not a lot of added space, but every little bit counts.  The toilet that came with the trailer was cracked on the water inlet, we have the broke one out, but haven’t installed the new one yet.  I installed the hitch on the frame of the trailer, its bolted on, but I still plan to have the seams welded.  I want it to be permanent.  We replaced all the bulbs in the cabin with LEDs, and I have some for the exterior lights as well, need to replace them.  And I want to add a LED strip across the front under the awning.  I really need a list, because with 2 months to go, time will fly by quickly

So we have been “living” in the trailer for the better part of a month now.  It’s been nice; we have been able to establish a bedtime routine for the kids in their bunks.  We also did a bunk change with 2 of the boys, and we are getting used to controlling the temperature in the trailer.  It’s been as hot as the 90s during some days, and as low as in the 30s a couple nights.

We have made a couple reservations for our first couple stops.  We will stopping in Idaho for a couple days on our way into Washington to start our journey.  Can’t wait!!

We have been playing around with some video.  We figure it’s a good way to document our journey, and share with our friends and family.  So please if you see one of our very armature videos come across your newsfeed.  Please take a look, subscribe and like our videos.  And give us some feedback.  We would love to hear what you have to say.

About Fummins Family

In 2016 a family hit the road with 5 of their children. They were going to travel the country in a Ford Excursion that had a cummins engine. A ford with a cummins, hence the name, Fummins. Ford+Cummins=Fummins. It was going to be a fummins family roadtrip. Within 3 months they decided that the travel trailer they were pulling wasn't working well for their family. They needed more space so they upgraded to a fifth wheel. It's not easy to pull a fifth wheel with an excursion, so they had to bid farewell to the fummins. They talked about changing the name of theirs travels, but decided to hold onto it for a while longer. They already had a website, blog, youtube, instagram and facebook. After 2 more years they decided to make the switch to Roadschool. Here they will share some of the old posts and video. It may be old information, but it's still just as good...at least most of it!
