So far, one of our favorite stops so far has been in Palm Desert California. This is just east of Palm Springs and north of The Salton Sea. We were here 2 weeks, and loved it. The park was shaded by palm trees. We met several different full time families, and got to know them. There was a good size pool that the kids used almost every day. The ranger shack sold fresh dates. We can definitely say we will go back. Joshua Tree National Park was close by, and the Living Desert Zoo was pretty cool for a small zoo.
