Our Current RV a 2007 Itasca Sunova 35J

As in sticks-n-bricks life, RV life is constantly evolving. If you remember, we started in a 30′ bumper pull travel trailer, and then we quickly upgraded to a fifth wheel. There we decided to spend a summer in Alaska and switched it up to a class C motorhome. We were fulltime, we have taken some longer trips, and now we are setting ourselves up to go part-time.

We have been stationary since 2019, and during that time we had a couple of different “campers”. In 2022 we found this sitting on a lot in Spokane WA, and knew it was something that we would like for a variety of reasons.

This unit had been sitting for a long time, but the dealer had just put fresh tires on it. It definitely needed some love and was a perfect fixer for us.

This 2007 Itasca Sunova 35J is a 35′ Class A motorhome that checks most of the boxes for us. It’s big enough to fit our family, yet small enough to navigate most places and fit into most National Parks.

It has a king bed in the back, 2 bunks in the bedroom slide, and the dinette and couch fold down into beds. We have comfortably slept 8 people in this a couple of times.

Let’s talk about storage! In all the RVs we have had, none have had the pure volume of outside storage that this motorhome has.

This is a “gasser” motorhome built on the Workhorse Chassis with an 8.1 GM engine. It passes everything except gas stations 🤣. Pulling our Flex from Montana to Albuquerque last fall for Balloon Fiesta we averaged about 7 MPG with a bunch of mountain climbing.

We tow behind this a 2010 Ford Flex that is towed flat with 4 down. Check out more about this here.
