Spicy Trails & Boosted Adventures: Roadschool Reviews Aventon Aventure.2

Welcome! If you love RVing as we do, and want an easier, more fun way to explore, the Aventon Aventure.2 is the ebike to look at. It’s powerful, easy to ride, and great for everything from campground loops, rides through the desert, trips up the Going to the Sun Highway, to quick trips into town. The fat tires handle dirt, gravel, and pavement without a problem, and the long-lasting battery keeps you going without worry. If you want a simple, reliable way to explore more on your RV trips, this bike makes it effortless.

I know what you’re saying; e-bikes have been around for a while, and all the influencers are already using/promoting them. Although there are some affiliate links in this post, we are not just blindly promoting them. We want to share our thoughts and give an honest review. These bikes are Roadschool tested, and all of ours have several hundred miles (and more) on them!

Fun for the whole family!

After we test-riden these bikes and decided to get a pair, we wanted to share in the fun. The older boys had been saving money from their jobs, and we decided to see if they would be interested in getting them, too. And these bikes are so much fun. If you test ride one, you will definitely want one, and they absolutely did want them, so we bought 4.

We did, however, need something for Emmett. He is too small for an e-bike of his own, and since we went this route and not one that includes a bike with child seats already mounted, we went to Amazon and found a Universal Bike Rear seat that attaches to the rack on the back of the bike.

Ebikes and RVing: The Perfect Pair for Adventure Travelers

Electric bikes—also known as e-bikes—are everywhere. But are they just another passing trend, or is there something genuinely game-changing about them? After getting hooked myself, I can say with confidence: they’re absolutely here to stay. And here’s why you might want one too.

Effortless Adventure

Hills used to mean sweat, exhaustion, and sometimes skipping the pretty route altogether. Ebikes flip that script. With pedal assist, you float up climbs that once felt impossible, opening the door to longer rides and new places to explore.
Pedal Power, With a Little Extra Push

Despite the motor, ebikes still deliver a real workout. You decide how much assistance you want, making them great for beginners, people with physical limitations, or anyone who wants to go further without burning out.

Ride Together, No Matter Your Pace

Group rides often fall apart when fitness levels don’t match. Ebikes level the playing field so everyone can enjoy the day together. More fun, fewer struggles, better memories.

Good for You, Good for the Planet

Swapping short car trips for an ebike ride is an easy way to cut emissions and reduce your carbon footprint. Perfect for errands, commutes, or weekend cruising.

The Verdict

We love these bikes! The riding experience is exceptional. We have made several long rides that we otherwise would not have done without them. They absolutely get us out there riding, and we love that. They are fun, fast, and can handle any terrain.

What challenges are there?

Well, as RVers(even if it is just part-time), the biggest challenge is bringing them with us and storing them. They weigh 77lbs each with battery, and they are full-size bikes that take up a decent-sized footprint.

Bikes in general are a target of theft, especially bikes that stand out, which these do. Once we are at a location, we typically remove the batteries to deter theft and use heavy-duty bike cable locks to keep them secure.

How we haul them:

Since we have 4 bikes, we use 2 hitch racks that hold 2 bikes each:

The first one is the Hollywood Racks RV Rider. We mount that to the back of the RV using a Roadmaster 007-6 dual hitch receiver adapter. It is the perfect heavy-duty solution for hauling your Aventon Aventure.2 on our motorhome. As an added measure, we also use the MaxxHaul 50023 Hitch Tightener Anti-Rattle Stabilizer to do exactly what the title suggests: stabilize and reduce rattle.

Hollywood Racks Destination

Are you still there? Good! We use those parts on the motorhome to hold 2 bikes, and then on the back of the Jeep, we have the Hollywood Racks Destination for ebikes, carrying the other 2. We know that this rack is only rated for a class B motorhome; however, we secure the bikes to the spare tire on the back of the jeep and use the Hitch Stabilizer, and we feel comfortable with it back there.

In Conclusion

So, here’s the simple truth: the Aventon Aventure.2 is fantastic for our RV life. Now, let’s be real—the upfront money for the whole package, including the e-bike, the heavy-duty RV rack you need, and any other gear, is a big hit, often landing around or above $2000 per bike setup. But we can tell you plainly, it is absolutely worth every single penny. These bikes let us explore way more than walking could, and turn every boring parking spot into a fun adventure. You are spending a lot of cash at the beginning, but you are buying freedom, fun, and the chance to make amazing memories that pay off the investment almost immediately.
