Anyone that knows about driving a truck, knows that the transmission is a critical part of driving and towing. And the biggest thing that can damage one the quickest is heat. In an effort to help control that, I installed a Derale Oversized Transmission pan. Derale’s Transmission Cooling Pan #14208 uses air passing beneath the vehicle and redirects it to help lower transmission oil temperatures. Designed for Ford’s E4OD, 4R100 and later 5R110 & 5R110W heavy duty transmissions, this pan features brazed, turbulator-equipped airway tubes passing through the lower section of the transmission pan for more efficient cooling. This thing is beefy for sure. It holds an additional 7 quarts of fluid! It fit like a glove on the Excursion, I will follow up more once we have some extended towing time. Check it out.
